New generations of technology are radically changing the way we work, communicate, interact and learn, and also our way of having fun. A world in which access to information and services is no longer tied to physical presence in one place or another, is already a fully established reality.

Web 2.0 represents a new way of using the internet, no longer as simple users but as co-authors. The Information Technology Skills course ( not to be confused with the Internet Technology course) aims to provide the student not only with a specific preparation in the use of the most common Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Access, but also to prepare the student to "live the internet" with a full understanding of both the advantages and the dangers. In this way the student is guided towards a level of "autonomous awareness" and is able to move without difficulty in the technological jungle that is an inevitable part of most daily work routines.

The course programme consists of the same syllabus that is required for the IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification). In this way, following just one course, the student covers all the abilities that are needed to acquire the 3 skills credits required by his university course programme and at the same time is full prepared to take the IC3 exam and gain for himself an internationally recognized qualification that gives added value to his academic preparation in general and is also immediately useful in the work field.

The Administrative Sciences degree course consists of 6 credits in Information Technology Skills. This provides students with the opportunity to continue their studies, increasing their knowledge of the risks in Internet (viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, phishing, pharming, identity theft and so on) and concluding their preparation with a subject of fundamental importance with regard to the specific degree course in question and to the work field in general: the Digital Administration Code.

Once again, the course programme offers the same syllabus that is required for the new international information technology certificate: IC DAC (Digital Administration Code). In this way the student is fully prepared to take the IC DAC exam and gain for himself a valuable and internationally recognized qualification of great value in his future professional career.

Relevant teaching material and a self-assessment test can all be downloaded from the "Documents" section of the Studium UniCT e-learning platform.
